Blog 1 Breakfast Without Caffeine is Healthier

While providing breakfast to teenagers for free is important to everyday life, limitation of caffeine is necessary.  Breakfast has been the central meal of the day, but teens do not take advantage of what eating breakfast everyday can do for you.  Thankfully, people did take action by providing free breakfast to schools hoping to get children use to eating in the morning, so that it turns into a routine.  “This is an opportunity to begin a movement for change so that all the kids reap the benefit of a morning meal,” says Barbra Chester who is part of a group involved in the partners for breakfast.  By doing this, children will become alert and will generate more energy with a better participation in class.  Not only can eating breakfast help contribute towards academic performances, it can reduce obesity.  With students eating in the morning, it would limit the binge eating throughout the day.  We have taken into consideration this breakfast issue, so it is time to limit the consumption of caffeine in the teenage world.  Chocolate, coffee, soft drinks, tea and other drinks or food all contain caffeine.  Whether you have caffeine in the morning or anytime during the day, every day, you may feel as if it is necessary to have that morning cup to start off your day.  Although caffeine is not physically addictive, it is psychologically habit forming.  Caffeine can give you energy, which is a good thing, but it can also cause heart disease, bone loss, arthritis and straight up pain. Caffeine is hard to stay away from, especially since the food and drug administration does not require food labels for it.  A solution to this problematic coffee addictiveness is that you can drink decaf coffee which has no caffeine or you can drink filtered coffee.  If you keep a healthy diet including a breakfast, with a cup of coffee once a week you will live a healthy lifestyle.
